Listening to a Christian podcast, I heard the guest Jamey Carrington say that he, "asks not for a lighter burden but broader shoulders." What a testament to the strength God lovingly provides us. It reminds me of Jesus' prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane— "...My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will." Matthew 26:39. It is not God's Will for us to have an easy life, with no troubles or hardships to bear; but to choose to take up our cross and to shed the things that keep us from Jesus, so that we may bear it on wide and strong shoulders. Shoulders made to lead others to Jesus.
